Thursday, Sept. 8

9-3 Free Time to enjoy Ft. Walton Beach

3-4 p.m. Register, Meet, Greet, Enjoy the Beach/ Free time.
4-5 p.m. Welcome to the 2016 UPA Convention, Round table discussion. Bring your problems, questions, successes and failures so we can all learn.
5-6 p.m. Alea Kittel will teach about photographing Peafowl. Due to weather conditions, we will also be touring her farm via a presentation, saving time for more lectures on Friday.
6:30 p.m. Cook out over looking the Ocean.
8:30 p.m. BOD Meeting at the Club House

Friday, Sept. 9
8:30 Continental Breakfast available at the clubhouse $5
9 a.m. Message from President Daniel Potente

9:45 Peacock/UPA Trivia Game. Prizes to be awarded.

10 a.m. Bill Vanduska speaking on Fecal slides, microscopic work

11 a.m. Loretta Smith presenting Chick problems and solutions. A make it and take it time. Participants will be making chick shoes, hock braces and a chick boot to take home for examples when they need chick orthopedics. This was from working with D.C. Townsend on some orthopedics this summer.
Noon Lunch on your own.
2 p.m. Phil Phillips Speaking. Mystery Topic Phil was a new speaker to UPA at Last years convention. He gave a wonderful presentation on genetics last year. We’re looking forward to his presentation this year.
3:30 p.m. Josh Nelson, from BAB Ranch will speak. Topic Hands on Genetics with visuals and an object lesson presentation.
Josh shared an educational talk last year and we are very thankful to have him again.
5:00 UPA Sponsored Spaghetti Dinner at the Club House
7 p.m Annual UPA Fund Raiser Auction Lots of fun, laughter and great peafowl related items to bid on. The drawing for the Handmade Quilt made by James Hill of N. Caroline and handquilted by Sherri Marcoski, KY will be tonight. Tickets can be purchased on line in August – Sept. 8th and at the Convention. You don’t want to miss the fun tonight.

Saturday, Sept. 10
7a.m Continental Breakfast available at the Club House. $5

7:30 Leaving for an unexpected tour. Bill Buckelew said we are in for a real treat. We will be touring the Eglin Airforce Base C-6 outpost on our way to our other 2 tours for the day. This is a tour the Bill has worked on for 2 years.

9 a.m. Tour of Eglin AFB C-6

10:30 a.m. Tour at Phil Phillip’s Peacock Farm
12:30 p.m. Lunch at BAB ranch
1:30 p.m. Tour the BAB ranch. This place has peacocks of very unusual colors and more than 40 breeder pens. They ship over seas too. Along with peafowl, we will see Camels, Ringtailed Lemurs, white Wallabies, Bethlehem Donkeys and more. This is an amazing tour!! Don’t miss it!!
We may have some hands on activities here too. TBA

Please mention you are with the UPA Convention to qualify for the 10-15% Discount off the low rate.  Condos start at $120 a night for a 1 bedroom.  These nice units are equipped with a full kitchen, bath, bedroom and living room.  There is a one time $100 cleaning fee.  Come early or stay late and get the great low price for a few days extra.  If you stay for 6 days you get the 7th night free but will not be allowed to double dip for the convention discount and the free night.  Still it is a great deal and a great place to stay.
